Sally specialises in tracing craft traditions from their earliest origins to the present day and brings deep insight into the history and practice of ancient making.

Sprang is a remarkable method of interlinking and braiding on stretched threads, with examples dating back to the Neolithic period.

In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn the basics using a simple stick frame to create beautifully elastic fabrics ideal for bags, caps, and more.

Most participants go home with a small finished bag, a collection of sample pieces, and a work-in-progress to continue at home – along with a new appreciation for the ingenuity this timeless textile craft and its early makers.
